Prof. Dr. Munir Abdul-Jalil Ismail, a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah on the second place in the Al Ain University Award for Academic Researcher. 145 scientific researchers from 45 Iraqi scientific institutions were presented for this award. The comparison was made on the basis of a mathematical equation that takes into account: the H index in each of Scopus, Publons and Clarivate (WOS) containers, the number of citations ( Citations) in the containers above., the abundance of publication (productivity of research publication) in the containers of Scopus and Clarivate.

The comparison was made by a refereed scientific committee formed for this purpose of qualified and experienced professors from several universities. The award identified 7 winners, and the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah came in second place.
