The Department of Computer Engineering was established in 1997 in the College of Engineering. The establishment of the Computer Engineering Department came in response to the great development in the field of computers and information technology in addition to the requirements of modern life after computer applications entered all the joints of advanced industries as well as social aspects and means of knowledge. The department includes about 30 faculty members and about 152 male and female students.
The department qualifies graduates to design and implement basic operating programs, advanced information systems, analyze requirements and set specifications for computer hardware, network equipment, and basic software for its operation.
