Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established alongside the department of Civil and Electrical Engineering with the beginning of the establishment of the College of Engineering at the beginning of the academic year 1964/1965. The faculty staff includes more than 50 members with master's and doctoral degrees in various mechanical engineering disciplines such as applied mechanical engineering, refractory engineering, fluid engineering, production and mineral engineering, and measurement and control engineering.
The number of undergraduate students is more than 517 students and 45 students in postgraduate students. The period of study in the department is four years, after which the graduate is granted a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Postgraduate studies began in the department as of the academic year 1976-1977 to grant a higher diploma and then a master's degree. Doctorate studies also began in the academic year 1992-1993.
