The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah organized a scientific visit to the Zubair Oil Field Operations Authority for fifty students from the Department of Petroleum Engineering, accompanied by Dr. Rafi Ahmed Abdullah and Professor Mazen Abdel Moneim, two teachers in the College of Engineering, where they visited the ZIBC28 drilling rig that is managed by Schlumberger.
The meeting took place with the geological engineering cadres working at the drilling site, where the students were fully acquainted with the extensions of the Zubair oil field, the stratigraphic sequence, the main and secondary machines within the field, the identification of the parts of the drilling rig and some of the problems associated with the drilling operations, in addition to a detailed description of the duties and works of each of them.
