Under the guidance of the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, the College of Engineering was established at the University of Basrah.
 A stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people after the bombing of the Baptist Hospital in central Gaza, in the presence of teachers, employees and students, in loyalty and reverence to the innocent souls of our brotherly Palestinian people.
During which Professor Dr. Sarmad Abdullah Abbas delivered a speech in which he denounced the horrific massacre committed by the Zionist aggression against innocent women and children.
