The international magazine (Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering) was published, which is one of the magazines affiliated with the international publishing house (Springer) and classified as a comprehensive magazine Clarivate with an impact factor (2.6) Scopus (CiteScore=4.4) within Q1.
Research by master’s student Hussein Abdel-Dayem Wadi under the supervision of Professor Dr. Faleh Mahdi Musa and Professor Dr. Ramzi Salem Ali, two teaching staff at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, Department of Electrical Engineering, entitled “Inventing a new optimization algorithm inspired by the principle of rust propagation behavior.” The research includes inventing a new algorithm to find optimal solutions to mathematical and engineering problems. . This algorithm was inspired by the behavior of rust spreading on metal surfaces, based on its spread equations and modeling its movement in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction on the surface of the conductor.
The research results were obtained through standard equations used to test all the new algorithms. Its results have been proven accurate and reliable, mathematically and geometrically. The algorithm was also used in shaping the electromagnetic radiation of shaping antennas used in military applications and remote sensing applications used in photographing soil layers and photographing celestial bodies. The algorithm gave better results than those obtained from previously proposed algorithms.
