The College of Engineering, University of Basra, organizes a workshop entitled (Artificial Intelligence in Mechatronics Engineering Applications)

The College of Engineering, University of Basra / Department of Mechatronics Engineering organized a workshop entitled (Artificial Intelligence in Mechatronics Engineering Applications) in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazal Mahbas, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Jalil Ismail, and a group of professors and students.
The workshop included six specialized scientific lectures, the first half of which began with a lecture on biomechatronics by Professor Dr. Ali Ahmed Abdul, followed by a specialized scientific lecture on soft robotics by Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Falah Abdul Hassan, while Dr. Ithar Hisham Khalil presented a smart system for sensing and detecting toxic hydrogen sulfide gas leaks in real time, which gives a quick warning to evacuate the site in oil facilities. The second half of the workshop began with a lecture by Eng. Anwar Abdul Karim Ali, who presented in detail a smart industrial control algorithm that was adopted as an alternative to traditional control algorithms in industrial and oil facilities, while lecturer Rafid Muhammad Khalifa gave an introductory lecture on the Internet of Things system and how to adopt it in mechatronics systems. The second session concluded with a lecture by Mr. Hussein Samir Ahmed, who discussed brain waves and how to benefit from them to move artificial body parts, especially prosthetic limbs. At the closing ceremony, the workshop preparatory committee presented a shield of thanks and appreciation to the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, in appreciation of his role in supporting the Mechatronics Department in general and the workshop in particular. In turn, the Dean presented certificates of appreciation to the lecturers participating in the workshop as well as the members of its preparatory committee.
