As part of the University of Basra's drive to enhance international cooperation and openness to global industrial institutions, the College of Engineering at the University of Basra signed a cooperation agreement with China Energy. The agreement aims to develop scientific research and engineering training and support applied academic programs.

The agreement was signed at the college's headquarters in the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Mufid Turki Rashid, senior faculty members at the college, and a delegation from China Energy. During the meeting, proposed areas of cooperation between the two parties were reviewed, including field training for college students, organizing specialized technical workshops, and implementing joint research projects in the fields of energy, mechanical, and electrical engineering.
