The Department of Architectural Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, held a scientific seminar entitled “Local Roots… Global Visions,” presented by architect Sally Jamal Al-Badri.

The seminar addressed the importance of utilizing local architectural identity and linking it to contemporary global trends, highlighting the role of architecture in achieving sustainability and preserving cultural identity. It also showcased successful architectural models and experiences that combine tradition and modernity.

The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and students from the Department of Architectural Engineering, who enriched the discussion with their contributions and questions, emphasizing the importance of such scientific events in developing architectural thought and enhancing the academic and practical skills of students.
