The College of Engineering at the University of Basra welcomed Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Affairs, on an official visit to review the academic institution and the college's educational infrastructure.

The Deputy Minister was received by the Assistant President of the University of Basra for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Khazal Mahbas, the President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufeed Turki Rashid, and the Vice Deans and Heads of Academic Departments.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister inspected the college's scientific laboratories and classrooms, and reviewed the level of scientific and service facilities provided to students. He commended the efforts made to enhance the practical and applied aspects of engineering education.

The Deputy Minister also inaugurated two new laboratories at the college, emphasizing that these steps represent significant support for strengthening the educational and research environment and supporting academic development programs.
