Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, the College of Engineering at the University of Basra organized the 3-Minutes Thesis Competition. The competition aims to develop students' research skills and intensive academic presentations by presenting a summary of their thesis within three minutes before a specialized jury.

The competition featured distinguished competition among a number of postgraduate (PhD) students, who presented their research ideas in an innovative and professional manner. The results resulted in the victory of doctoral student Rana Karim Shamkhi Jaber, who won first place in recognition of her outstanding performance and ability to simplify and effectively present the research idea.

The College of Engineering emphasized that this event comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to enhance the research capabilities of its students and encourage them to be creative and excel academically, in line with the university's mission to serve the community and advance scientific research.
