The Human Rights Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, in cooperation with the Mechatronics Engineering Department, held an awareness seminar entitled “The Rights and Responsibilities of Engineering Students According to the Laws and Regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education.” This seminar was part of the college’s programs aimed at enhancing legal and rights-based awareness among students.
The seminar included a lecture presented by Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Shatei, who discussed the legal framework governing students’ rights and responsibilities. He highlighted the regulations and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the mechanisms for adhering to them in order to contribute to providing a university environment based on justice and mutual respect.
The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and students, and included discussions and questions that enriched its themes. Attendees emphasized the importance of such seminars in establishing a culture of rights and promoting responsible academic conduct within the university campus.
