A master's thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah discussing (Improving the self-purification process in the Rabat and Jubaila tables in the city of Basrah)
The thesis presented by the student Hana Ali Hadi Improving the self-purification process in the study area by adjusting the flow sections of the two tables for the purpose of Obtain the flow segment that gives the highest values of the self-cleaning coefficient. This was accomplished through analysis .The laboratory of a series of time data of the biochemical oxygen requirement of water samples collected from eight sites distributed over the study area and modeling of sixty-two unstable flow conditions for a region studying (one case for the current segments and sixty-one for the modified segments) using HEC-RAS software.
Using the results of the laboratory analysis of the time series data for the biochemical oxygen requirement was done The application of the Thomas method to calculate K.
The aim of the thesis is to improve the self-purification ability of the two tables, as measured in terms of the self-purification factor The thesis concluded that the self-purification process can be improved in the study area by using the modified flow section as In the case of RIB10-a. This can be enhanced by reducing the discharge of untreated wastewater thus Keep K at its lowest value.
