a master’s thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah discussing (Design and Implementation of a Two-Dimensional Engine Using Smart Materials) about the thesis presented by the student Hassan Falah Abdul-Kadhim

Design and implementation of two-dimensional linear actuator control using smart materials, its industrial linear actuator

Many of the characteristics that can be measured and that have a direct impact on the efficiency and effectiveness during the implementation of the task assigned to him. The most important characteristics that must be measured and studied during research in the field of linear actuators .It is the ability of the engine to repeat the task and accuracy in executing the task.

The current factory device uses a nickel-titanium alloy which is one of the smart materials and shrinks when a specific amount of heat is applied.

The thesis aims to develop new technologies for robots and linear actuators to increase the demand for these applications in different fields .The thesis concluded that good results were obtained by testing the device in drawing several drawings and comparing the required drawing with the real drawing, and the results were very close to the drawing.
