Within the framework of cooperation between the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah and the engineering companies operating in the province, Schlumberger company operating in the oil fields donated devices and equipment specialized in the field of information technology and computer networks to the laboratories of the Department of Computer Engineering, and this came in direct coordination between the head of the Department of Computer Engineering. Dr. Muhammad Abd Ali Al-Abbadi and programmer Mustafa Malik Khudair from the Information Technology Department at Schlumberger, to support the laboratories of the Department of Computer Engineering with modern equipment to provide the opportunity for students to keep pace with the development in their field of specialization and to prepare computer engineers who are able to engage in the working site directly upon their graduation and reduce the training time after graduation.

It is noting that this step comes as part of an ongoing cooperation between the College of Engineering and Schlumberger, which includes training students in all departments in the company during the period of systematic training for students.
