According to the directives of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen, the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah has prepared to receive the new academic year by providing the requirements for the success of this year. These preparations come with the start of the new academic year 2020/2021.

The preparations included cleaning all departments and preparing scientific laboratories to accommodate no more than 15 students in one laboratory to achieve the principle of social distancing according to the directives of the Crisis Cell, and placing posters to welcome students, in addition to awareness posters to avoid and prevent Covid-19 infection.
