I discussed a PhD thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah (Designing an underwater swimming robot based on Labrifrom swimming style)
This thesis, presented by the student Farah Abbas Nasser, dealt with the design of a swimming robot with a Labriform swimming pattern and sheds light on four issues of increasing degrees of complexity, namely the effect of the morphological shape of the pectoral fins on swimming performance, achieving the highest swimming speed by changing the ratios between the speed of the drag and recovery stroke Using the fin operation in different proportions to perform the robot guiding process based on the differential thrust principle, a design proposal that changes the mass distribution of the swimming robot for diving purposes based on the submarine principle.
The aim of the thesis is the increasing use of swimming robots on a large scale in recent years due to the urgent need to use them in operations where human intervention is difficult
The thesis concluded that the results of simulation and practical experiments are the correctness and speed of the swimming robot in swimming.
