Within the programs of scientific and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Iraq and the United States of America for the scientific visitor, Dr. Uday Bashir Issa Al-Mayahi, a teacher in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Basrah, participated in a 10-week training course at the American University of Yamenk, which was established in 1886.
The program included holding many workshops and seminars for the purpose of academic development in the aspect of scientific research and university teaching, including how to obtain international accreditation for universities, how to obtain grants for scientific research, how to develop curricula, adopt people with special needs in higher education, and include technology in education And many others.
Dr. Al-Mayahi also gave a lecture on higher education in Iraq for the advanced staff at Yamenk University and also presented a plan of action in the American capital, Washington, which included establishing a research group and teaching new subjects at Basra University. At the end of the course, Dr. Uday received certificates of participation in all the courses, and it was emphasized that long-term relations were established between the scientific visitor and the host university for the purpose of scientific communication.
The presentation also included a visit to the world's first ranked university, such as Stanford University, and a visit to international companies in the electronic and technical field, such as Kokol and a research center for NASA.
Dr. Uday will hold a number of seminars to introduce the program and for the purpose of academic and scientific development in all joints of the university, as this will raise the name of our given university in international forums and enhance its scientific status.
