A master's degree at the University of Basrah is looking at (studying the effect of concrete properties on the bearing capacity of polymer fiber bonds)

A master's thesis in the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah urged (studying the effect of concrete properties on the bearing capacity of the polymer-concrete fiber bond using the finite element method)

The thesis presented by the student Ali Uday Helal included selecting a single-cut test sample and it was represented using the ANSYS program in two cases, with the presence of the adhesive that sticks the polymer fiber tape to the concrete in the first case, and by neglecting its presence in the second case. These two models were represented and used in the analysis process, as each analysis process It included determining the bearing capacity of the bond and determining the distribution of stresses and cracks in the failure areas

And to study the effect of the compressive strength of concrete and its modulus of elasticity on the behavior of the bond, several models were analyzed using three different types of concrete (normal concrete, high strength concrete and lightweight concrete).

The thesis aims to investigate the effect of the main properties of concrete on the bond between concrete and polymer fiber strips

The thesis concluded that the increase in the compressive resistance of concrete leads to an increase in the bearing capacity of the bond and that the best use of polymer tapes is with concrete of higher compressive resistance. It also concluded that there is no effect of changing the compressive strength of concrete and its elasticity coefficient on the nature of failure, as it was found that the presence of the adhesive was taken into consideration Consideration in the representation process, the bearing capacity of the bond in models with lightweight concrete is less than in models with ordinary concrete if the compressive strength of concrete is greater or equal to (30MPa), while it is always less than in models with ordinary concrete if the presence of the adhesive in the presence of the adhesive is neglected representation process
