On the sidelines of the celebration of the University Day, Prof. Dr. Thamer Ahmed Al-Hamdan, President of  University of Basrah, visited the College of Engineering, and was received by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Rabie Hashem Thajil, some deans of the faculties, heads of departments in the College of Engineering and some teachers, on 4/1/2018 to open the five-a-side stadium that was built With personal efforts by the college, the president of Basra University, the dean of the college, professors and attendees attended the final match that was held between the team of the Architectural Department and the team of the Chemical Department, and then the solar energy project was opened in the Department of Electrical Engineering, which was also accomplished with self-efforts by the college cadres. The Dean gave a detailed explanation of The working mechanism of the system and the possibility of benefiting from it to generate electrical energy from sunlight. The President of the University expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the faculty cadres.
