A master's thesis at the University of Basrah examines the use of different network technologies

A master’s thesis in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Basra examined the use of various network technologies and wireless sensor networks to design and implement an integrated smart home system for student Bilal Naji Hussein. The thesis dealt with the design and implementation of an integrated smart home system to improve the quality of human life. The modern Raspberry Pi, which can be defined as a full-fledged computer the size of a credit card

The goal was to exploit the revolution of communication network technologies and wireless sensor networks to design an integrated remote control system with very high flexibility. In this system, the home units are controlled remotely and in different ways, where it can be controlled by phone, via the Internet, voice commands or through Bluetooth. Where this system automatically separates the power source from the devices.

The thesis concluded that the proposed system is suitable for a real house in different environments, the owner has very flexible options to control the home appliances, the cost of the implemented system is low and consumes the least energy, detecting the entry of the unauthorized person.
