In cooperation between the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah and the General Company for Iraqi Ports, represented by the Director General, Dr. Farhan Muhaisen Al-Fartousi, and in coordination with the management of the staff of the large port of Faw
And because of this project’s importance and great impact on progress and keeping pace with the global development in maritime transport, the College of Engineering organized a scientific visit for the students of the Civil Engineering Department, under the supervision of Dr. Saleh Issa Khasaf, and in the presence of the department’s professors, a scientific visit to the Faw Grand Port project
During the visit, a lecture was given on the port of Faw and the stages of its completion, the submerged tunnel, the paragraphs of its work and the stages of its completion, linking the port of Faw with the Harree Road, in addition to making a first field tour to the port's five berths. The central milling and field laboratory of the project and a second field tour to the breakwater and the implemented internal roads, where the students expressed their pleasure in visiting this project, which prompts them to be inspired and simulate these elements in their future work.
