The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah held a scientific lecture entitled (Hybrid Solar Energy System for the College of Engineering)
The lecture given by Mr. Ahmed Al-Ayada, a specialist in hybrid solar energy systems, dealt with a review of this type of systems that contribute significantly to reducing the cost of electric energy and the college’s sufficiency in electric energy, in addition to its assistance in scientific research and its use in the irrigation system for green spaces
And the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ramzy Salim Ali, stated that the College of Engineering, in cooperation with Mr. Ahmed Al-Ayada, completed the economic feasibility study for this project for the purpose of obtaining the original approvals and searching for the necessary funding for it especially since the oil companies operating in Iraq support alternative energy systems, noting that the cost of the project for a total energy of 2.5 megawatts is approximately $3 million. The lecture was attended by scientific and administrative assistants, heads of scientific departments, teachers and a number of postgraduate students.
