A Reseacher in the College of Engineering publishes research in an international journal

Prof. Dr. Salih Issa Khasaf, a lecturer at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, in collaboration with postgraduate student Hajar Hussein Abd Ali, published a scientific research in one of the scientific journals specialized in publishing engineering research, which is the journal: Mathematical Modeling of Engineering Problems (MMEP) This journal is published in Canada by the publishing house (International Information and Engineering Technology Association IIETA) It is classified within the second quarter (Q2) and has an impact factor (Impact Factor: 1.659) and (Site Score: 2.8) It is classified under  Scopus containers. titled An experimental investigation of Energy Dissipation for Stepped Spillways with Different Flow Conditions The research deals with the study of the effect of the design criteria of the runway waterway on the energy dissipation values of the hydraulic source and the optimal design of those runways. In this research, a laboratory study was conducted of models of the watercourse included in an iron channel manufactured by the researcher, with a length of 10 meters, a width of 80 cm, and a height of 80 cm. Where the effect of a number of different grades and different angles of the backside of the waterway was studied, and the impact of these variables on the efficiency of dispersing water energy was found.
