According to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to adopt the principle of twinning public and private universities with regard to curricula, materials and the study programme
The twinning agreement was held between the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah and the College of Engineering at Al-Maqal University on Tuesday, 10/10/2023, where the agreement was signed by the College of Engineering at Al-Maqal University, Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Jassim Muhammad Abdel-Jabbar.
 On the part of the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Mofed Turkey Rashed, and the signing of the agreement was attended by the Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jassim Al-Asadi, and the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Majid Faisal Jassim and Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department Dr.. Abdul Sattar Al-Maliki
 It was also attended by the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Haider Maath Mohammad, and Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Prof. Dr.. Muhammad Jawad Kadhem It is hoped that this agreement will contribute to enhancing scientific exchange between the two parties and holding joint scientific activities in the field of developing academic and research capabilities in the theoretical and scientific fields.
