Within the memorandum of understanding signed between the University of Basrah and the Basra Gas Company, the top students in the first and second stages of the departments of the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering were honored by the Basra Gas Company. The ceremony was attended by the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the General Director of the Basra Gas Company, Andrew Wiper, attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Mofed Turkey Rashed And Dr. Asaad Abdel Sayed Abdullah, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department , Assist. Prof. Dr.. Raad Jamal Jassim, from the Mechanical Engineering Department and Prof. Dr.. Ammar Abdel Shahid, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department. Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen, praised the initiative of the Basra Gas Company and its interest in outstanding students, which is considered a supportive and encouraging incentive for the rest of the students to make diligence one of their priorities. The Director General of Basra Gas Company announced the launch of the company's award for outstanding students. This is a new step to support outstanding students at the University of Basrah. The purpose of this initiative is to honor outstanding students and highlight this elite of students who represent the future of this country and the real engine for future generations. The honor came in order to create a spirit of competition among the students and sponsor the top students by the company for the purpose of qualifying them to work in the future within the company’s staff.
