The President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, conducted an inspection visit to the College of Engineering. During the visit, he met with the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Sarmad Abdullah Abbas. During his visit, he supervised the installation and operation of a 4* screen. 3 meters with modern technology that keeps pace with modern developments and strives to achieve the highest levels of scientific and practical benefit in the hall of the martyr Dr. Asaad Salim.

The President of the University also inspected the work of the solar energy system in the Department of Electrical Engineering, its components and its working mechanism
He also opened the Architectural Engineering Department's garden with an area of ​​7,000 square metres. It was planted with talisman, trees and palm trees. The garden also contains a fountain and a modern irrigation and distillation system.
The President of the University also opened an exhibition in the Department of Architecture that simulates the Palestinian issue. He also inspected the cafeteria and kiosks of the College of Engineering and the services provided to students. He also met with a group of students and listened to their comments and needs.
