The College of Engineering at the University of Basra organized its annual evaluation conference for the year 2022-2023, in the presence of the Dean, the Dean’s Assistants, the department heads, the teaching staff, and the college’s members. The conference began with a speech by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufid Turki Rasheed, during which he explained that the goal of holding the conference is to evaluate the scientific and administrative process. Identifying positive activities and comparing them to previous years, the conference also seeks to uncover the most important obstacles and find successful solutions to them. The scientific and administrative progress of the college for the past two years was reviewed, starting with success rates, recording research and publishing it on international websites. The conference dealt with two axes, the scientific axis presented by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Mounir Abdel Jalil Ismail, where he provided a detailed explanation of the conference that included a research approach in which a group of scientific activities were presented and discussed that seek to achieve the goal of the conference and is reflected in evaluating the scientific process of our college in the future by standing On the most important positive indicators of that process and the most important distinguished activities in the college and comparing them with its achievements in the previous year in order to work on developing these indicators for the better.
The second axis is the financial and administrative axis, which was explained by the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Sarmad Abdullah Abbas, where he provided a detailed explanation about the infrastructure and the financial, organizational, and service aspects, as well as the most important field achievements of the college regarding the college’s buildings and departments and their development of green squares, halls, and laboratories.
The Dean of the College also honored a group of former faculty members and deans.
