Within the framework of joint cooperation and openness of the College of Engineering, University of Basra to international companies operating in Basra Governorate, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid and Dr. Alaa Abdel Razzaq, received a delegation from the Korean Daewoo Company.

The meeting included discussing the possibility of signing an agreement between the consulting office affiliated with the College of Engineering and the Korean company Daewoo, which works under the supervision of the Basra Governorate Ports Directorate, which is implementing a group of projects in Basra Governorate, including the road linking Al-Faw and Umm Qasr and a group of other projects, where it was agreed to Preparing a draft agreement bringing together the engineering consulting office affiliated with the College of Engineering With the Basra Ports Directorate and the Korean company Daewoo to conduct special examinations of projects and provide engineering consultations
At the end of the meeting, a field visit was made to the laboratories of the Civil Engineering Department, the laboratories of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and the Chemical Engineering Department, where they were informed of the tests that these laboratories could conduct for the Korean Daewoo Company.
