This morning, Sunday, February 18, 2024, the college’s five-a-side football championship for students began at the College of Engineering stadium, which was organized by the college’s Student Activities Unit. With the participation of 10 teams representing the college’s morning and evening departments, with a two-group system, two teams from each group are at the top, and they meet after qualifying to determine the first places in the tournament.
Two matches took place on this day. The first match was between the Civil Engineering Department team in the morning and the Chemical Department team .It ended with the victory of the Chemical Engineering Department with a score of 3-2. The second match was between the Petroleum Engineering Department team and the Architectural Engineering team.
The match ended with the victory of the petroleum engineering team with a score of 4 - 3 The sports activities official explained that this tournament is one of three special tournaments in the five-a-side football event organized for this academic year. The Civil Engineering Department tournament and the Electrical Engineering Department tournament were opened.
