The College of Engineering at the University of Basra organizes a visit to the Iraqi Drilling Company - Rumaila Operating Authority

The College of Engineering at the University of Basra, Department of Petroleum Engineering, organized a visit to the Iraqi Drilling Company - Rumaila Operating Authority, in cooperation with the student branch of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers at the University of Basra, and under the direct supervision of Dr. Amani Jalil Al-Husseini, branch supervisor for the third stage, over two consecutive days, February 21-22, 2024. He was accompanied by a group of department teachers, Professor Mazen Abdel Moneim, Professor Mustafa Kamel Shamkhi, and Professor Karar Kazem. Al-Husseini indicated that there are many reasons for organizing such visits, including that it is considered an experience that provides the student with the opportunity to explore the practical life of an engineer in the field. It is an important educational method as it deepens and enhances study inside the Classrooms. The students also expressed their happiness at participating in this trip, stressing its importance, as they considered this trip a scientific experience that they would remember for a long time. The Petroleum Engineering Department takes this opportunity to express its sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this trip, especially the Iraqi Drilling Company and all the engineers, technicians and workers present in the field for their cooperation in making the trip a success.
