Dr. Hamid Hayab Samir, a lecturer from the College of Engineering, University of Basra, Department of Architecture, visited the United Kingdom for 21 days.
The visit was related to the topic of the local architectural heritage of the city of Basra and the mechanism for preserving it and the challenges and opportunities available on the subject, especially with regard to the use of modern technology and benefiting from it in future documentation and maintenance operations.
The visit was at the invitation of the British Institute for Iraqi Studies (BISI) in partnership with the Al-Nahrain Network at University College London (UCL) and in cooperation with Loughborough University.
During the visit, several meetings were held with experts in the field of preservation and documentation, in addition to making multiple presentations on the local heritage of the city of Basra.
