The College of Engineering, University of Basra, organized an awareness seminar in cooperation with the Youth Ambassadors Program in Basra Governorate, affiliated with the Supreme Council for Youth, entitled "The Impact of Drugs on the Individual and Society".
The seminar, in which lecturers from the Supreme Council for Youth lectured, included multiple topics, including the elements of drug-related crime, various methods of abuse, and preventive and therapeutic measures. The spotlight was also on the penal policy and laws related to drug crimes, in addition to the importance of the role of university students in enhancing cultural awareness and effective contribution to raising awareness of the dangers of Drugs on the Individual and Society.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness among university students and the community about the social and health risks of drugs, with a focus on the role of education in preventing and combating this dangerous scourge.
