Dr. Walid Khalid Al-Baaj, Head of the Department of Architecture, and Dr. Tahseen Al-Azzawi, a faculty member in the same department at the College of Engineering at the University of Basra, participated in the first Iraqi forum for architecture departments in Iraqi universities. The forum was held at the University of Baghdad with the participation of a select group of academics and heads of architecture departments from various Iraqi universities.

The forum aims to enhance academic cooperation and exchange of scientific expertise between architecture departments, in addition to discussing ways to develop curricula in line with labor market requirements and global developments in architecture and urban design.

During the forum, a delegation from the College of Engineering at the University of Basra presented insights and ideas that support the unification of academic and research efforts and contribute to raising the academic level of architecture students in Iraq.
