Professor Dr. Mufeed Turki Rashid, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Basra, participated in the first scientific forum on reducing traffic accidents in Basra Governorate. The forum was held with the participation of a select group of academics, researchers, and specialists in the fields of traffic, public safety, and engineering.
During his attendance, the Dean emphasized the importance of supporting scientific initiatives that contribute to enhancing traffic safety and reducing accident rates. He pointed to the pivotal role of academic institutions in providing studies, engineering solutions, and proposals that contribute to developing road infrastructure and improving safety procedures.
The forum featured the presentation of several papers and scientific discussions that focused on the causes of traffic accidents in the governorate and ways to reduce them through the use of modern technology, raising community awareness, and strengthening cooperation between universities and relevant authorities.
The College of Engineering's participation reflects its ongoing commitment to contributing to addressing societal issues and providing scientific and engineering expertise that serves Basra Governorate and enhances the safety of its citizens.
