In an effort to enhance scientific and intellectual cooperation among academic institutions and specialized centers, the College of Engineering at the University of Basra has joined the Iraqi Scientific Output Preservation Project, which is directly sponsored by the Digital Laboratory Department of the Digital Information Center at the Library of the Holy Abbasid Shrine.
This project is a leading national initiative aimed at digitizing Iraqi scientific and intellectual output, particularly university theses and dissertations, by converting them from paper to digital format using the latest digitization technologies and advanced technical methods. This ensures the preservation of scientific content from damage or loss.
The project also seeks to make this output available to researchers, students, and other users through secure and organized digital platforms, guaranteeing sustainable access for future generations. This contributes to supporting scientific research, strengthening the academic presence of Iraqi universities, and preserving the national scientific heritage.
This cooperation comes as a confirmation of the keenness of the College of Engineering - University of Basra to engage in sound scientific initiatives, and to support efforts aimed at developing the digital information infrastructure, in line with the requirements of the digital age and serving the scientific community inside and outside Iraq.
