The College of Engineering at the University of Basra held a scientific workshop entitled “Iraqi Architecture: Past and Present,” which addressed the development of Iraqi architecture throughout different historical periods and its impact on the country’s cultural and urban identity.

The workshop featured presentations by Professor Dr. Ghada Moussa Razouqi, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Hussein Abdul Ali, and architect Ali Nouri.

The workshop covered several topics, including highlighting the relationship between architecture and the natural environment. The role of rivers in shaping Iraqi cities and their influence on the architectural and cultural character over time was also discussed.
