The College of Engineering at the University of Basra held a workshop entitled "From Student to Engineer: The Real Journey Begins Here."

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufeed Turki Rashid, and the supervision of the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Hisham Taha Yassin, the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering held a workshop entitled "From Student to Engineer: The Real Journey Begins Here." The workshop aimed to highlight the gap between academic studies and the demands of the job market, introduce fourth-year students to the essential skills needed for a successful transition into professional life, and discuss the most prominent challenges facing newly graduated engineers and how to address them.

The workshop covered a number of important topics, including:

Practical skills required in the job market; The difference between the academic and professional environments; Common mistakes made by new graduates; and Mechanisms for self-development and career path building.
