The College of Engineering at the University of Basra Holds a Seminar Entitled “Freelancing: An Opportunity for Women in the Digital Economy”

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, in cooperation with the Ibn Sina Center for E-Learning, held a scientific seminar entitled “Freelancing: An Opportunity for Women in the Digital Economy.” This seminar was part of ongoing activities aimed at empowering women and enhancing their role in the digital labor market.

Dr. Uday Bashir Issa, Director of the Ibn Sina Center for E-Learning, presented at the seminar. He discussed the importance of freelancing in the digital age, the opportunities available to women in various technical fields, and reviewed the most prominent digital platforms that facilitate remote work. He also outlined strategies for developing the skills necessary to succeed in this field.

Dr. Issa also addressed the challenges women may face in freelancing and how to overcome them through continuous training and experience building. He emphasized the importance of academic institutions supporting such initiatives, which contribute to strengthening women’s economic independence.
