As part of its preparations for the final defense stage, the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a preliminary presentation of graduation projects for final-year students. This initiative, directly supervised by faculty and department administration, aims to enhance student readiness and elevate their academic performance.
The event featured a group of students presenting their projects in a scientific environment that simulates graduate thesis defense sessions. This provided them with an opportunity to confidently present their ideas and receive scientific feedback that will contribute to the development of their projects before the final defense.
This experience revealed a disparity in the students' levels of achievement. Some students demonstrated outstanding work, having completed their projects early, while others were still in the final stages of preparation. This highlights the importance of early planning and adherence to the timeline. Professor Dr. Amin Ahmed Nassar attended the event, attentively following the presentations. He commended the students' efforts and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in honing their presentation and discussion skills. These activities coincide with the celebration of the sixty-second anniversary of the founding of the University of Basra, as part of its ongoing efforts to raise the scientific and academic level of its students.
