In a new scientific achievement added to the record of the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, the Mechatronics Engineering Department participated with eight applied student projects in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence in the National Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition.

All eight projects successfully passed the initial evaluation stage, having been nominated by the competition's coordinating committee with high scores, thus qualifying them for the final stage of the National Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Championship (NURAI 2026).

These projects will now undergo the final judging stage by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research through the official electronic platform launched by the Ministry specifically for this championship. This competitive process aims to select the 18 best innovative projects in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence from Iraqi universities.

This achievement reflects the level of scientific and research development in the Mechatronics Engineering Department and the efforts of students and faculty in supporting innovation and enhancing the University of Basrah's presence in national scientific forums.
