The College of Engineering at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, hosts the "1000 Leading Programmers" initiative.

Affirming its pioneering role in supporting scientific and technological advancement, the Mechatronics Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, hosted the first day of the major initiative, "1000 Leading Programmers," sponsored and launched by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Basra Governorate.

This hosting comes within the framework of joint and fruitful cooperation between the Mechatronics Engineering Department and the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, with the aim of preparing a promising generation equipped with programming, artificial intelligence, and digital leadership skills to create solutions that shape the future and serve the country.

It is worth noting that this initiative, which will continue for three months in its first phase, is not merely a temporary training program, but rather a strategic national project to build digital leaders capable of creativity, innovation, and actively contributing to the technological and knowledge-based advancement of our beloved country.
