As part of its efforts to promote a culture of occupational safety and develop the skills of graduates and students, the College of Engineering at the University of Basra, in cooperation with Delta Engineering, Testing, and Logistics Company, organized a specialized training course on the dangers of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) gas.
The course covered the characteristics of H₂S gas and its hazards in industrial and oil environments, the correct use of detection and alarm devices, personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency, evacuation, and rescue procedures, as well as a review of best practices for safe work in locations where this gas may be present.
This course reflects the College of Engineering's commitment to strengthening cooperation with specialized companies and institutions, contributing to the development of qualified engineering personnel who possess the knowledge and skills necessary to implement the highest occupational safety and health standards in various work environments.
