The College of Engineering at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Integrity Commission, held a workshop on employing artificial intelligence in investigative work.

Based on the University of Basra's commitment to strengthening its cooperation with state institutions in the province, the College of Engineering, in collaboration with the Integrity Commission/Investigations Department – ​​Basra Investigations Directorate, held a workshop entitled "The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Managing Criminal Cases and Electronic Investigations."

The workshop aimed to introduce the latest artificial intelligence applications and technologies and their role in supporting the management of criminal cases and enhancing electronic investigation procedures. This was achieved by utilizing smart tools for analyzing digital data and tracking information, thereby contributing to increased efficiency in investigative work and keeping pace with rapid technological advancements.

The workshop was attended by a number of affiliates and those interested in this field. It included scientific discussions on the prospects for employing artificial intelligence technologies in the legal and investigative sectors, and the importance of developing the digital skills of employees in academic and oversight institutions, in line with the requirements of digital transformation. This workshop comes as part of the university’s efforts to translate its partnerships with state institutions into practical programs that serve the community and support capacity building in priority areas.
