The College of Engineering at the University of Basra welcomed a delegation from the China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC) to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions and explore ways to support and develop joint programs and initiatives.
This visit follows a memorandum of understanding signed between the College of Engineering and the company, which aims to enhance collaboration in student training and graduate employment, thereby contributing to the development of their practical skills and improving their readiness to enter the job market.
Within the framework of this existing cooperation, the company is committed to recruiting a number of engineering graduates annually and providing them with job opportunities. This strengthens the partnership between academic institutions and the industrial sector, supports graduates, and aligns engineering education outcomes with labor market demands.
During the visit, discussions focused on mechanisms to support training and employment programs, expand areas of joint cooperation, and exchange expertise. The meeting also addressed the implementation of the memorandum of understanding to benefit the college's students and graduates.
