The Master's thesis of researcher Huda Mahmoud Fakher was discussed at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, Department of Electrical Engineering, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ali Amin Abdul-Jabbar and Dr. Hisham Latif Sawadi, entitled Simulation Design of Passive Beam Steering with LTCC Antenna Using Rotman Lens Technology
This research presents the simulation and design of a passive beam-steering system based on an LTCC antenna and Rotman lens technology for D-band applications. The proposed system operates at 120 GHz and aims to achieve high gain, wide bandwidth, and directional radiation suitable for future 6G wireless communication systems. An aperture-coupled microstrip patch antenna was designed and optimized using LTCC technology, followed by the development of an eight-element linear antenna array to enhance radiation performance. A Rotman lens was then designed as a passive beamforming network and integrated with the antenna array to provide beam steering without individual electronic phase shifters. The proposed system demonstrates potential for high-frequency directional communications.
