The Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, participated in the proceedings of the Joint Steering Committee for the Revitalization of Basrah and Mosul (Phase III). Held in Baghdad, the meeting involved various entities and institutions associated with the project.

The committee's work falls within the scope of the European project to revitalize the historic centers of Mosul and Basrah, supervised by the UNESCO Office in Iraq. The initiative aims to monitor project implementation stages and discuss ongoing activities as well as proposed plans for the upcoming phase.

The meeting agenda included discussions on key aspects of the project, a review of implementation progress, and an examination of strategic priorities for the next operational period. These efforts contribute to supporting the revitalization and rehabilitation of historic areas in Old Basrah and Mosul.
