College of Engineering at the University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Field Trip to Al-Maqal University

As part of efforts to enhance the practical aspects of the educational process and bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and modern scientific and technological applications, the Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah—under the supervision of Dr. Khitam Mula Kwam—organized a scientific field trip for second-year students to the Department of Computer Engineering at Al-Maqal University. The visit provided students with an opportunity to explore laboratories dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, and to learn about the latest technologies and applications utilized in these fields.

The visit aimed to achieve several academic and educational objectives, most notably:
1.    Expanding students' scientific knowledge regarding modern applications in computing and information technology.
2.    Introducing concepts of artificial intelligence and its applications across various engineering disciplines.
3.    Providing exposure to artificial intelligence laboratories and the hardware and software used within them.
4.    Introducing the fundamentals of cybersecurity and its importance in protecting systems, networks, and digital data.
5.    Connecting the theoretical concepts studied in computer-related courses with practical, real-world technological applications.
6.    Encouraging students to keep pace with technological advancements and leverage them in their future engineering specializations
