As part of efforts to strengthen academic partnerships and expand international cooperation, the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah held a meeting at the UNESCO headquarters to discuss potential collaboration and review ongoing projects focused on the preservation of architectural heritage in the city of Basrah.
The meeting addressed the development of cooperation frameworks between the University of Basrah—represented by the College of Engineering—and UNESCO. This initiative aims to pave the way for new projects dedicated to safeguarding cultural heritage, while leveraging academic and research expertise to serve the community.
Furthermore, the meeting focused on fostering collaboration for the implementation of high-impact projects that align with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This includes enhancing the role of Iraqi universities and promoting the concept of a "productive university"—transforming knowledge and scientific research into tangible projects and achievements that benefit society and support sustainable development.
