The Delegation of the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in the Ministry of Planning Visited the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, headed by Dr. Hussein Ali Daoud, head of the Central Organization , and Mr. Wissam Saeed Assi, Director General of the Quality Control Department

They were received by Dr. Haider Maath Mohammad, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Musab Adel Ali, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Hassanein Ibrahim Khalaf, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two sides in the field of engineering examinations for construction materials, chemicals, petroleum and metals.

Dr. Haider Maath stated that the meeting included

an agreement with the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control to conduct tests for construction materials, chemicals, petroleum and metals entering Iraq through border crossings in the laboratories of the College of Engineering, especially the college laboratories hold an accreditation certificate from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control..

In addition to an agreement with the Quality Control Department to hold courses in the College of Engineering to obtain the ISO 9001 quality certificate
